I must wholeheartedly recommend the fabulous ALICE NEEL documentary
at Ye Olde Cinema Village before it vanishes. The only others there tonite besides us remarked at how "good it felt to
be back in The Village." Show support for these un-multiplex art house crusties and GO.

If chance has it that you are traipsing around Bushwick looking for some stimuli,

Two highlights from the LMCC Hudson Open Studiostwo weekends ago. The drawing is part of the brain and spirit of Michael Bilsborough.

Cosmic energies collided for a festival of sound, new energy and follies at the
Slipper Room last night in an event called Origin of Species, put together by
the talented Michael Bilsborough! I was too overwhelmed by
the performances of Blanko y Noiry, Brute Force and Daughter of Force (what?!?!? AMAZING.)
and Mr Sontag to take any photographs, but here is a classic of Chris J on the tables to give a hint of the circle of gyration that
followed!
Derby de Mayo
A humdinger of a holiday weekend, cultures clashed and made sweet sweet love with the timing of the 133th Kentucky Derby race and Cinco de mayo. Many BBQs and ritualistic actions abounded, but nothing could quite top the hostessing of the lovely Miss Susan Kowal as witnessed by her stylish ham servings. My horse in a bet across town, the favorite "Street Sense" won after a last minute bolt from 19th to 1st place. Now that's called Spirit!
